OPEN CAMPUS WEEK: Digitally Discover the University in all its Facets

From June 7 to 11, the digital OPEN CAMPUS WEEK will run with more than 100 events and activities. You can register now for the exciting live program.

In the 50th year of the University of Bremen’s history, the traditional OPEN CAMPUS will take place digitally for the first time as OPEN CAMPUS WEEK. For five days, faculties, institutes, and other university institutions want to show off their talents under the motto “OPEN WORLDS – SHARE KNOWLEDGE.” You can look forward to interesting theme days and an interactive map that will make a digital campus visit possible. Thanks to exciting formats, such as digital tours and talks and virtual marquee visits, you can gain an insight into the different areas of the University of Bremen.

What, when, how, where? Anyone who has ever been to OPEN CAMPUS knows that a little sense of direction does no harm in the jungle of events. Especially when the traditional happening that displays the university’s diversity is to take place over the course of a whole week. A little tip: Most of the events will take place on Friday, June 11. But there will still be a lot going on in the days beforehand. Every day from Monday to Thursday is dedicated to one topic:

Expert Tips and First-Hand Reports

The exact theme day schedule can be found on the website. Many institutes and initiatives from the university and surrounding fields are involved in accordance with the corresponding theme day. For example, the entrepreneurship network BRIDGE and various start-ups will provide information on business start-ups. On the career perspectives theme day, potential employers from the Technology Park, amongst others, will present current job openings. The university’s academic advising will also be available.

Wednesday will continue with exciting events: Students will talk about their time spent abroad and there will be many tips on the topic. On Thursday, the occupational health management team from the university and various health insurance providers will offer mental training sessions and much more.

Remember: You need to register for most events.

Pinnacle on Friday

On Friday (June 11), the OPEN CAMPUS WEEK will reach its pinnacle. On this day alone, there will be nearly 60 scheduled events between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Much like in previous years, many exciting academic talks and panel discussions on current topics such as “the changing climate” or “deep oceans” will be taking place. Several research institutes will offer live tours through their facilities.

Registration is required for most of the events and participant numbers are limited.

The main attraction of the OPEN CAMPUS WEEK will be published on Friday: the interactive map. The map will enable you to walk digitally across campus. On the map, you can find the marquee street, which was located in the campus park in previous years, as well as many university buildings that will open their doors virtually.

From Friday, June 11, an interactive map will invite you to take a virtual campus tour.

Additionally, on June 7, the Bremen Kid’s Campus (in German) will start again. In keeping with the motto “50 Times Digital Kids’ Campus”, 50 digital events for children between 8 and 12 years will take place.
